A G-string (alternative gee-string or gee string) is a type of clothing, a narrow piece of cloth, leather, or plastic, that covers or holds the genitals, passes between the buttocks, and attached to a band around the hips, worn as bathing suit or underwear by women and men. This is also the force behind an extensive swimsuit thong could be so narrow that it would disappear between the wearer’s buttocks.
Two of the term G-string and thong are often used interchangeably, but they can refer to different pieces of clothing. A G-string is one of a variety of thong. Etymology
Origin of the “string-G” term is not clear. Since the 19th century, the term refers to the string geestring holding loincloth of Native Americans and then referred to a narrow loincloth itself.
William Safire in Ode on a G-String cites the use of “G-string” word for the loincloth by 15 years of Harper’s Magazine after Beadle and suggested that the magazine confused the word with a string of musical terms-G (ie, the string to the note G). Safire also mentions the opinion of linguists Robert Hendrickson that G (or gee) stands for the groin, which is a taboo word at times.
Edgar Rice Burroughs novel made her dress-character, Tarzan, in a string-G for the first time in his book The Son of Tarzan (1914) in chapter 26 [however., Korak, the son of Tarzan, using a G-string before his father did in the book Tarzan The same (chapter 20).
